Gina Gobeyn joins the PCI SSC as Executive Director responsible for the organization’s strategic direction, its operations and the oversight of the PCI SSC senior leadership team and staff.

During her more than 25-year career, Gina has established a reputation for building robust programs in cybersecurity risk management, incident response, payment security, fraud mitigation, and regulatory compliance. 

Gina joins the PCI SSC after 17 years at Discover Financial Services. Before joining PCI SSC, Gina was the Chief Risk Management Officer for Discover’s global payments business. In this role, she was responsible for Payment Security, Fraud Risk Management, Payment Partner, and Transaction Compliance oversight for the Discover Global Network.  

At Discover, Gina participated in the launch of the PCI Security Standards Council as a founding member of the Executive Committee and represented Discover on the Federal Reserve System Secure Payments Taskforce. Prior to Discover, Gina held cybersecurity leadership positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, Aon, and Internet Security Systems (now IBM).  

Gina is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is currently pursuing an EMBA from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management.
