Small merchants continue to be a primary target for cybercriminals. According to the Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report, 61% of breached organizations surveyed were small businesses. These highly-targeted businesses often do not have the technical knowledge needed to effectively manage security against these attacks- which is why today the PCI Security Standards Council is announcing the launch of updated educational resources and a new tool aimed at helping small business owners protect their customer’s payment card data.
