PCI Security Standards Council Hires Andrew Jamieson to Senior Strategic Role

Experienced payment security expert to assume standards management and development responsibility

WAKEFIELD, Mass., 6 July 2021 — The PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced the hiring of Andrew Jamieson as Vice President, Standards at the PCI SSC.  In his role, Andrew will be responsible for leading the standards development function of the PCI SSC and managing and working with staff to set the direction of standards management and development.

“We are excited to have someone with Andrew’s distinguished background and experience to lead in this important role,” said Lance Johnson, Executive Director of the PCI SSC.  “Andrew’s impressive experience working in payments, embedded systems, and emerging technologies will make him an invaluable asset to our organization and our industry.”

Andrew’s career background includes work for a number of different companies creating new technologies in the areas of payment systems, and consumer products.  Andrew has written a number of payments and security-based patents, which have been granted around the world.  He comes to the PCI SSC from Underwriters Laboratories (UL) where he served as Director Technology and Security.  Andrew holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (with Honours) and a Masters degree in Information Technology.  Jamieson is an Adjunct Professor at NYU.

Andrew will officially start his new role on July 6, 2021.

Andrew lives in Melbourne, Australia, but was born in York in the UK.  He prefers the weather in Australia.  When not working, Andrew likes to read, play video games, and formulate plans to get his two children to leave home.
