PCI SSC Regional Engagement Board Taps Leading Companies in Brazil To Drive Education and Awareness of Standards and Best Practices for Safe Payments
SAO PAULO, Brazil, 29 January 2020 — Today the PCI Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) announced a new roster of Brazilian payments leaders to serve on its 2020-2021 Brazil Regional Engagement Board.
Board members act as advisors to the Council on payment security issues and challenges in the region, and as ambassadors for helping increase education and awareness of standards and best practices for safe payments.
Companies serving on the 2020-2021 Brazil Regional Engagement Board represents leaders from all sectors in the Brazilian payments industry – including vendors, merchants, processors, banks and industry associations. These include:

The board will meet regularly throughout the year to discuss payment data security issues, trends and market changes. Its key priorities in 2020 will include:
- Educational Resources for Brazil: Collaborating on the development of content and resources for the Brazilian payments industry;
- Awareness of Key Payment Security Initiatives: Driving awareness and understanding in the market of the PCI Software Security Framework (SSF) and PCI Contactless Payments on COTS (CPoC™);
- Development of PCI DSS v4.0: Helping increase involvement from Brazilian companies as Participating Organizations and specifically in the development process of PCI Data Security Standard Version 4.0 (PCI DSS v4.0);
- Training: Fostering greater payment security awareness and understanding through PCI Training;
- Latin America Forum: Shaping the agenda for the PCI Latin America Forum, taking place in Sao Paulo in August 2020.
“Increasing industry participation in the development of PCI Standards and resources is critical to Council’s mission to enhance global payment security,” said Senior Vice President Troy Leach, who oversees global engagement efforts for the Council. “The PCI SSC Brazil Regional Engagement Board plays a key role in providing insights and intelligence from Participating Organizations and payments stakeholders in Brazil, which in turn helps influence and shape the development of our standards and resources for global stakeholders.”
